Where to Find Coal and How to Complete Challenges

The Lump of Coal in Fortnite is the latest addition to the 14 Days of Christmas challenge, one of the many aspects of this year's Winterfest. Here's everything you need to know about where to find lumps of coal and the rewards they provide.

Lump of Coal Fortnite

In order to hunt down the lumps of coal, players must first visit the Winterfest Cabin. By visiting the Winterfest Cabin, which is found on the main menu next to the play tab, players can claim daily rewards and prizes, which includes skins, emotes, and gliders. Additionally, the Cabin also contains what's called "The 14 Days of Christmas," which are 14 daily tasks that provide a variety of cosmetic rewards. So far, these tasks have included dancing in certain areas, climbing up to high locations, and warming up at the Winterfest Cabin's fireplace.

The lumps of coal can be found scattered across the map in ice boxes, sort of like how weapons can be bought from vending machines. Once you have a lump of coal in your inventory, it can be used as a grenade-like weapon. However, the lump of coal doesn't deal a whole lot of damage from a distance, so its best to drop one behind an opponent when sneaking up on them.
