Valheim players have recently been spotting an ominous hooded figure with a scythe-like weapon around the world in different biomes, labeling this mysterious figure as the "Valheim Grim Reaper."
The figure doesn't interact with you or attack you, when you spot it it will just be watching you from a distance. If you approach it, it disappears, leaving you wondering, "who was that?"
What is the Valheim Grim Reaper
Many users on Reddit are giving their opinions on what this figure is or why they appear.
Iron Gate has yet to put out any comment or update on the Grim Reaper, but one of the likely ideas of who this figure is that has been brought up is that it may be Odin himself in disguise.
Valheim is based on Norse Mythology, so this idea is certainly possible. In Norse Mythology, the embodiment of Death isn't the Grim Reaper, it is Hel, who may be different in physical characteristics than the Grim Reaper we all know.
This, if not Hel, can just be Odin, the All-Father, just visiting you in Valheim to check up on you, just from a distance. While this isn't confirmed, it is definitely cool to think the All-Father of the Norse World wants to keep an eye on you while you explore to make sure you're doing well.
