He joined the US Marine Corps in 2008 and served until November 2013, when he was honorably discharged. Travis also attempted to return to college and become a professional football player after leaving the Corps, a desire he had since 2009. He auditioned for Georgia State University. Everything went swimmingly until the Compass Test for admission, as well as Mathematics, a subject he had never mastered and had not practiced in ten years
After dropping out of college, he attempted to become a police officer but was never called back. He then attempted to become a firefighter, passing three of five tests but receiving no invitation. Travis, feeling like a failure, accepted a job paying $8 an hour for a year before moving on to a position paying $11.75 in Atlanta, Georgia. Both required hard labour and the hauling of big objects.
In late 2013 and early 2014, he tried his hand at modeling and acting out of desperation. Travis had three children with three different women in late 2014, no car, and two pending child support lawsuits. Travis seeks out devout ladies who inspire him and “frequent the squat rack at the gym.”
