The Soup Kitchen of Boynton Beach will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 27 at 9850 W. Boynton Beach Blvd.

REGION Golf Classic to aid institute
The annual Golf Classic sponsored by the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science is planned for Dec. 19 at Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach. Tee-off time is 8:30 a.m. The event will feature a hole-in-one contest, prizes, refreshments, luncheon, golf tips and clinics.
A new feature of the classic this year is a nine-hole tournament designed for those who prefer a shorter course. This event will begin at 1 p.m. and include a luncheon buffet, cocktail reception, prizes and a hole-in-one contest.
The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel is one of the world’s foremost centers of scientific research and graduate study. For information, call 561-689-0726.
WXEL needs volunteers
WXEL-Ch. 42 invites volunteers to answer phones during its December membership drive Nov. 28 through Dec. 21.
Volunteers will be asked to take information from new members by phone 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays. Weekend hours are flexible. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
