It was just a joke! Peter Thomas, the ex-husband of star Cynthia Bailey, did not actually obtain a marriage license with his girlfriend Toni Scott.
Peter, 58, took to Instagram on Friday, April 12, and shared a video and series of photos to reveal that he was just kidding about marrying Toni.
He captioned the post,
Ok, I had fun today f–king with y’all. My friend @tpat.moore got married today at the courthouse, me & @iloveyoutoni was the witnesses them. #charlotte #queencity
The video shows a friend of Peter carrying his new wife out of the courthouse with Peter humming the in the background.

This comes shortly after Peter teased on Instagram that he and obtained a marriage license with his loving girlfriend.
Alongside a photo of the pair standing in front "Marriage licenses, notary oaths [and] vital records," sign, he wrote at the time, "We took the short cut."

The couple began dating in 2017. Peter was previously arrested for allegedly writing fake checks. However, he denied the allegations on March 5.
Peter married and Cynthia, 52, in the Bravo hit series in 2010 but they parted ways six years later.
