Peter was set to start as the new morning host on News/Talk 710 KNUS on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Unfortunately, he did not show, leading to speculation that his former company, KHOW, had banned his debut due to a non-compete contract condition. On July 3, 2013, at 6:00 a.m., Peter’s show debuted on 710 KNUS.

The show was extended by one hour on January 6, 2014, beginning at 5:00 a.m. and running until 9:00 a.m. Formerly, KNUS had worse morning program audience ratings than KHOW. Yet, during the first month of Peter’s broadcast at KNUS, he outperformed his former employer KHOW in the morning slot.

In 2010 and 2011, his morning show on KHOW was touted to be Denver’s top-rated morning radio show. In 1997, Peter garnered national recognition for his inquiry and practically continual discussion of JonBenét Ramsey’s death. In August 2006, the writer came under fire for believing that John Mark Karr was not involved in the death of JonBenet Ramsey.

Peter was vindicated after “the most costly DNA test in Colorado history” exonerated Karr. In February 2009, Peter stirred outrage in Colorado by frequently referring to Democratic U.S. Rep. On June 3, 2013, it was announced that Peter had been fired from the station, despite the fact that a Colorado Observer editorial stated that “Boyles is an important player in our local media, and, barring some new and horrific news that no one is covering, Boyles should keep his job.”
