Pat Shingleton Biography

Pat Shingleton is a well-known American former weathercaster. He has spent 41 years working at WBRZ. He is currently a Community Service Ambassador for WBRZ. He began his media career as a weathercaster at KQTV-TV in St. Joseph, Missouri, before joining WBRZ. Pat later traveled to Baton Rouge before joining WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He is also the President of Pat Shingleton Productions, the brains behind the We Play Baton Rouge, Hotline After Dark, and The Fifth Quarter performances. He is a member of the National Weather Association, the American Meteorological Society, and the National Association of Television Program Executives.

He most recently earned first prize in the Breaking Weather category in 2011 when the Louisiana Associated Press acknowledged him for his weather presentations. He was also named state champion in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2009. In 2006, the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

His company was Pat Shingleton Productions, and he produced, distributed, and syndicated productions such as We Play Baton Rouge, The Fifth Quarter, and Hotline After Dark.

He volunteers for several community organizations as part of his employment as a weathercaster for WBRZ. He is the Chairman of the Board of Pat’s Coats for Kids, a nonprofit supported by WBRZ. He thought of the Community Pharmacy of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, which enabled the Fill a Prescription for the Needy project.

He formerly worked as an Organizer / Coordinator for The Parade Group, LLC in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area in March 1986. From 1985 to 2000, he co-owned ZeeZee Gardens Restaurant and Pub in Baton Rouge, Los Angeles. He was in charge of marketing, management, and liquidation.

From 1979 through 1996, he was the Vice President of The Mabyn Kean Agency, acting as the President’s Assistant in all aspects of advertising, public relations, and marketing. He served in Baton Rouge and Los Angeles. From 1979 to 1981, he was the Chief Forecaster for WPXI-TV in the Greater Pittsburg Area.

He worked as a Weather Forecaster and Marketing Department Assistant at WAFB TV in Baton Rouge, Los Angeles, from 1977 to 1979. And last, from 1976 to 1977, he worked as a weather and news anchor at KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri.
