Representatives from nearly 20 Catholic schools and parishes in the five-county Diocese of Palm Beach recently gathered to discuss how to promote and market the good news about their students and staff.
The representatives who attended the public relations seminar at St. Edward’s parish in Palm Beach spent 31/2 hours learning how to develop ideas, contact news organizations, create press kits and write news releases.
Candace Tamposi, the first lay principal of St. Ann School in West Palm Beach, led the seminar, which was sponsored by the diocese’s separate Office of Communications and Office of Catholic Schools.
Professionals from The Florida Catholic, The Palm Beach Post, Southern Bell, the Sun-Sentinel and WPTV-TV Channel 5 made presentations during the seminar, called “Support One Another: Market the Good News.”
