Overwatch events are one of the best parts of the game. If you're tired of playing competitive, the seasonal events are a good place to wind down and get some loot boxes. Overwatch Archives takes players into Overwatch's past, but what if Blizzard made an event that took players into a different reality?

Blizzard needs to introduce an event that places Overwatch heroes into another universe.

There are multiple moments in Overwatch lore that Blizzard can use as starting points to alter reality. One amazing idea, which was brought up by a well-known fan, could show what the world looked like if the Omnic Crisis never ended. What would happen to all the heroes who were important in the Omnic Crisis? Where would they be after failing to stop it?

Blizzard could also switch the roles around of certain Talon and Overwatch members, too. It could introduce a universe where Gabriel Reyes (Reaper) led Overwatch, and Jack Morrison (Soldier: 76) was the one who later joined Talon. This would be the perfect opportunity to see some of Overwatch's good guys, like Tracer or Mercy, in a terrorist organization.

Overwatch's lore, despite needing some work, is so vast that the possibilities for Blizzard to pick at and create an alternate universe are endless.

Alternate universe events might be a way for Blizzard to explore where the game's lore could have gone, and introduce ideas that were scrapped before the game eventually launched, like concept art of some heroes that differ drastically from the final product.

Exploring alternate realities in Overwatch might be just what the game needs to fill in the gap of lore-based events in Overwatch's current rotation of events.
