One of Mei's voice lines in Overwatch was made completely by mistake. Yu "Elise" Zhang, the voice actor for Mei messed up a line and apologized to the entire staff around her, saying "sorry, sorry, I'm sorry, sorry."
The Overwatch voice directors thought it was perfect for Mei's character, and they included it in the game.
Zhang's voice for Mei is very similar to her own, so it was no problem to make that voice line work.
The Overwatch voice actors are fantastic at bringing their characters to life, and Zhang is no exception. One of Mei's most iconic lines was made by complete mistake -- sometimes the most special things are authentic instead of scripted!
