A car was left nearly unrecognizable after crashing into a concrete pole in Hallandale Beach early Saturday morning, killing the passenger inside.
A woman was driving the car near the 800 block of West Hallandale Boulevard about 4 a.m., when she struck the pole, causing “super-extensive damage to the vehicle,” according to Capt. Pedro Abut, of the Hallandale Police Department.
A man in the car died.
The woman was taken to Aventura Hospital with injuries. She is currently in stable condition, Abut said.
Traffic-homicide detectives are investigating the cause of the crash.
