For entrepreneur Abe Ng, what began as his father’s Chinese takeout empire is now a thriving dynasty of sushi houses, the latest of which has opened inside the former Beehive Kitchen on Las Olas Boulevard. Marcos, West Palm Beach
Founded in 1978, the Ohio-based pizza chain boasts a secret original pizza sauce recipe, dough made onsite daily and a proprietary cheese blend. Patrizia’s, Deerfield Beach
The Neapolitan-inspired eatery founded by two brothers and chefs from Naples is already well known among New Yorkers, opening its doors first in the Bronx in 1991 before expanding throughout the boroughs and surrounding areas. The Abbenante family’s fifth Palm Beach County restaurant has opened their doors for dinner. Lynora’s is known for recipes handed down from matriarch to matriarch culminating in the first Lynora’s in 1974. Jaffa Israeli Kitchen and Wine Bar, Hallandale Beach
Hate cauliflower? Not if chef Yaniv Cohen can help it: The most-popular dish at his test kitchen inside the MIA Market food hall in Miami’s Design District is his turmeric-roasted cauliflower, drizzled with tahini and spiced with za’atar and fresh herbs. Plans are underway to redevelop the old Dania Beach Grill, which the city deemed unsafe and closed two years ago. Holly Blue is expected to open in November as part of the multimillion-dollar remodel of the historic First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Owner Michael Friedman’s bagel flagship in Deerfield Beach is expanding west, and will debut its second breakfast-lunch deli this December in Coral Springs’ Brookside Square. The “home of grandma’s lost recipes” is coming to Lighthouse Point this fall. This will be the fifth location for the fast casual Italian eatery founded in Boca Raton. This Miami-based fusion kitchen and nightclub uniquely offers Dominican sushi rolls featuring ingredients like sweet plantains and black beans and rice. World of Beer, Miramar
This Tampa-born chain emporium of porters, stouts, IPAs and Belgian ales will next open inside the new Miramar Park Place shopping plaza sometime in December. Along with craft suds, the 4,240-square-foot restaurant offers flatbread pizza, pretzels, salads, chicken sliders and other comfort-food nosh. Decorated restaurateur Burt Rapoport (Max’s Grille, Deck 84, Prezzo) is behind this new restaurant opening at Delray Marketplace. Effe Café, Cooper City
This 1-year-old pop-up bakery that opened in the bright corner of Cooper City Marathon gas station closed Oct. 30 after a deal for a new storefront “fell through at the 11th hour,” the restaurant posted on social media.
