Nancy King Obituary, Death Cause – It is with heavy and broken hearts that we share news of the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Nana and “GG”, Nancy Ellen King. On June 4, 2022, Nancy passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her husband and family. She will be remembered lovingly by her husband Michael, and daughters Lisa (Mark B.), Michelle (Dutton) and Jillian (Mark F.).
At an early age, she entered the workforce as a licensed hairdresser, but changed careers as the children reached school age, to spend most of her working life at Nortel, where she made many friendships that endure to this day. In retirement, Nancy enjoyed her home and entertaining family and friends, and especially loved spending the past 20+ winters, meeting other Snowbirds and U.S. residents in various locations in Florida, making even more friends. While Nancy had endured some serious health setbacks in the past few years, she valiantly faced her most recent illness prognosis with strength and dignity.
Nancy was the proud Nana of Ryan King (Courtney R.) and “Great Nana” to Ryan’s daughter Lundyn. She was predeceased by her father and step-mother, Alfred and Mary Jowett; her mother and step-father, Emily and Robert “Bob” Colden; and her mother and father-in-law, Madeline and Joe King. Nancy was a loving wife, daughter, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to so many, and will be deeply missed.
