Having a variety of new Spanish language titles available in the library will not only provide Hispanic characters with whom students can identify, but also will help them with self-esteem as well as Spanish reading, writing and testing abilities. Our school library budget consists of bi-annual GO Bond money we use primarily for non-fiction English titles. We augment that with Book Fair Scholastic dollars for fiction. Yet many of the Spanish titles we need are not available from our usual providers. Nor do we have the budget for them.
