Merrill Reese is a popular American sports radio announcer currently working for the Philadelphia Eagles on SportsRadio 94.1 WIP-FM as the play-by-play radio announcer. Since 1977, Reese has been the voice of the Eagles.

Merrill finally landed a job in Philadelphia at WHAT and its FM companion, WWDB-FM as a newscaster and sportscaster.
Following a few years, Reese went on to WIP to work for that station’s Sports Director, Charlie Swift, as a backup who did drive-time sportscasts and Philadelphia Eagles play-by-play.
During his time at Swift vacationing, He started doing the pre-game and post-game shows on WIP, and afterward for the Eagles was assigned to do color commentary during the games.
On December 7, 1977, when Swift died from suicide, Reese was immediately promoted to Eagles play-by-play voice. His start in that capacity four days following on December 11 was a 17–14 home victory over the New York Giants.
