His dad Jann has some highly controversial views
Gus’ dad Jann found himself at the centre of controversy in September for making a series of disparaging comments about Black and female artists in an interview with The New York Times.
He said that his selection of interviews for his book The Masters, “was not a deliberate selection … insofar as the women, just none of them were as articulate enough on this intellectual level”.
“Of Black artists – you know, Stevie Wonder, genius, right? I suppose when you use a word as broad as ‘masters’, the fault is using that word,” Wenner added. “Maybe Marvin Gaye, or Curtis Mayfield? I mean, they just didn’t articulate at that level.”
He later apologised for his remarks, per The Guardian.

Gus is also an executive producer.
