Jang "Looper" Hyeong-seok has decided to retire from the competitive League of Legends scene to study at a university, according to a translation by lol.ggesports. He has decided not to stream during that time.
Looper joined Echo Fox after being released from the LPL team Royal Never Give Up. He had an underwhelming performance in his first year on the team, and was moved to be a substitute for the top lane in the 2018 spring season.
Looper is a former Worlds champion, having won the 2014 tournament with Korean team Samsung White. Since he has decided not to stream, it seems that Looper will be committing to his studies for a long time.
It is unclear if he will make a return to the competitive scene at any point in the future. Other veterans, though, have done just that by joining Origen.
