Early Career :
- Lily’s first position in the broadcasting industry was for KFDA-TV, a local station based out of Amarillo, Texas.
- There, she worked as a news anchor and reporter from May 1997 to August of 1998.
- After that, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama, and worked as an anchor and reporter for another local station, WIAT-TV. She worked there for two years before leaving for Seattle, Washington.

Washington :
- Once in Seattle, Lily took another reporter and anchor position, this time for Northwest Cable News Seattle.
- 3 years later, she moved on to a station with higher ratings.
- She began working for KCPQ-TV Q13 Fox in March of 2004 as their morning news anchor and as a reporter.
- She was seen weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Texas :
- In February of 2012, Lily moved back to her home state of Texas and began working for KHOU-TV. She was the morning news anchor, and could be seen weekday mornings from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., then again at 12:00 p.m.
- In 2016, KHOU-TV got a new News Director named Sally Ramirez. Ramirez created some staffing changes, and moved Jang from her weekday anchor position to a features reporter.
- She decided to leave the station shortly after the shift.
- A few months later, she began working for Houston Public Media as a producer, reporter, and host of some of their news.
PBS :
- Lily was then asked by the Public Broadcasting System, or PBS, to film a documentary about the Vietnam War. Jang, who was born in Vietnam, accepted, and returned to her birth country for 9 days as they filmed.
- When she came back to Texas, she decided she didn’t want to report regular news anymore, and began the next part of her career.
Real Estate Business :
- In September 2017, Jang became a licensed, certified real estate agent with Heritage Texas Properties.
- The company uses a “zero-three” business model where the seller can list a house at zero cost to them, and the realtor makes a 3 percent commission when that seller buys their next house.
- Lily also works with KPRC Channel 2, another station in Texas, and hosts a real estate segment called Home Showcase. It features open houses that Jang chooses herself.
- She continues to sell houses and hosts her real estate show every Saturday and Sunday morning.
