Before joining WPLG, Durda served at WSVN CHANNEL 7 in Miami, Florida. However, she left the station in 2012 after working for five years, following a dispute with management.
Julie later started her broadcasting career while she was still a student. She started serving as a traffic reporter for the Sacramento KXTV channel. She then headed to San Francisco where she was a member of the San Francisco 49ers’ Gold Rush Cheerleading Squad from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, she also served as the Time-Saver Traffic Team’s head at the KRON-TV channel, appearing on-camera each day between 4.30 and 7 am, to aid early commutersin planningn their travel routes to work.
Moreover, Durda moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she served as a traffic and weather anchor for the CBS affiliate TV channel KPHO. In 2006, she was an intern at the WSVN, the Fox-affiliated TV station located in Miami, Florida. After graduating in 2009, Durda went back to WSVN, this round serving as the station’s weather forecasterovern the course of the next couple of years.
Besides, Julie left WSVN in 2012 to join WPLG Local 10, the ABC-affiliated TV station, also located in Miami. Ever since she has been serving as the main weather anchor. Also, Durda has appeared on various other ABC programs, including “Good Morning America” and “World News”.These involvements have helped her to become one of the leading weather forecasters countrywide, as well as to become more popular.
