John Strong is an American sportscaster and television play-by-play broadcaster who currently serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for Major League Soccer (MLS) on Fox. He previously worked for NBC as a play-by-play announcer for the Portland Timbers.

While working for Fox, John is the play-by-play man for the network’s biggest matches, including Major League Soccer (MLS), FIFA World Cups, Concacaf Gold Cup, United States Men’s National Team, Confederations Cup, Copa America Centenario, UEFA Europa League finals from 2013-16, and UEFA Champions League finals.
Furthermore, he collaborated with Stu Holden, a former United States Men’s National Team midfielder, as the lead play-by-play announcer and analyst during FIFA World Cup Russia coverage in 2018. Furthermore, he was still working for Fox in August 2012 before landing a full-time job in 2015.
While at Fox, John covered the Concacaf Women’s World Cup Qualifying, the Concacaf Champions League, US soccer friendlies, the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Europa League.
