I could have sworn that I read an article on MakeUseOf about a website that would automatically email family/friends/whomever if you don't check-in after a certain time (assuming you're missing, or die). I tried searching, but nothing comes up. Help?
(My)Space Oddity 2011-11-04 05:35:00 Not exactly the same thing, but there's this site My Death Space which locks and archives the profiles of deceased MySpace users.Sadly, it gained headlines numerous times when a number of MySpace users committed suicide. At least one incident, tragically, was related to cyber-bullying. Rlajdb 2011-10-19 15:44:00 i foundout last month,a guy id been sending Happy Birthday wishes had been dead for 2yrs...and,noone told me anything... Smith 2011-10-19 04:54:00 I hunted around, but the closet thing I could find on MakeUseOf was this: did find a few sites that seem to do what you ask, though not exactly in the manner you describe (i.e. checking in to confirm you're, well, not dead). there actually appear to be countless more - those are just the first few that I came upon that appeared legit. Please do some more research before using any such service, as I haven't used them myself. Zebu 2011-10-19 15:40:00 Wouldn't it be more appropriate if you test the service first? ;-) M.S.
