WoW Shadowlands realm population has spiked after the new expansion’s release.
Blizzard Entertainment has been spurred into action after several complaints concerning the booming population of certain World of Warcraft (WoW) servers—known as “realms”—causing issues and lengthy queues. Kaivax, WoW Community Manager, posted a brief acknowledgement and explanation on the United States’ forums offering “Free Character Transfer service for players who have characters on high population realms.”
”For a small number of realms, demand has been overwhelming, and we’ve been working around the clock to address issues on those realms and make the game available to the maximum number of players.” They wrote.

WoW Shadowlands Realm Population
WoW Shadowlands total player count is unknown and internet sleuths can only guess at the number. There are a few hints to help as Blizzard has stated this expansion had the most pre-orders in the franchise history. On top of that, the general feedback for the expansion has been positive.
”We've seen unprecedented engagement trends since the [WoW] subscriber base doubled following the launch of Classic last year. Pre-sales of the upcoming Shadowlands expansion are the highest we've seen at this stage ahead of any release.” He said.
Daniel Agere, Activision Blizzard COO, corroborated the story, suggesting that the game has an extraordinarily healthy and active player base that was eager to break into the next adventure in this MMO.
The main negative was BFA the last expansion that had many players frustrated and saw massive numbers leave the game. To play it safe, and based on the information we have, anywhere between 4 to 6 million seems reasonable.
