Fifth Third Bank has opened a financial center on Las Olas Boulevard as part of an expansion in South Florida.
The bank operates out of the first floor of a building now called the Fifth Third Bank High Rise at 200 E. Las Olas Blvd., in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It serves as the bank’s commercial headquarters in South Florida, replacing office space in Sunrise.
“Our location in Fort Lauderdale gives us a centralized hub to better serve both current and future banking customers in South Florida,” said David Call, president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank in South Florida.
It also offers flexibility for further expansion, bank officials said.
The bank is focusing on “anchor” locations in South Florida with the new financial center in the downtown Fort Lauderdale financial district as the hub for Broward.
The bank’s other South Florida “anchor” locations include financial centers in Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Coral Gables.
Fifth Third now has eight branches in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
