Clash mode is set to officially release on May 25. The new game mode for League of Legends will allow friends to play competitively against each other in three-day tournaments.

Riot Games product manager, Leanne Loombe, stated that "League is a sport, it's a game focused on team play and our No. 1 goal with Clash is to bring purpose to team play in League. We want to give players a reason to play together and that motivation is currently missing in League of LegendsClash is designed to bring teams together and get them to care about who they are playing with."

Clash allows friends to gather together for a three day long tournament, for friendly competition, or just to prove who really is the best. Each tournament is set across three days, starting with a four team bracket beginning on Friday. Teams can join the tournament at any stage during the weekend, and will always begin at the four team bracket.

Teams that win on Friday will be able to play in an eight team bracket on Saturday. Winners of Saturday's event will be able to compete in a 16 team bracket on Sunday.

Teams that join in the Clash later in the weekend will be unable to advance to the 16 team bracket level, with teams joining on Sundays unable to advance to the eight team bracket level.

Two Clashes are planned a month every weekend, with drafting open the Monday before the Clash begins.

Teams will be set into different tiers, where each team will be matched with one of equivalent skill level. Players that have even one highly ranked player will cause their team to be rated at a higher skill level. In order to play Clash, players need to be ranked in Summoner's Rift, and be at least Honor Level 2. Loombe said that this is because "These restrictions are to keep Clash as highly competitive as possible. We want it to be focused on competition and team play rather than toxicity or negativity."

To enter in a tournament a player will have to put forward tickets. Players can choose to put in between one and five tickets. Depending on how many a player wagers, they'll receive a Clash Orb or Capsule, which will upgrade the further the player gets into the tournament. They will have general loot similar to Hextech boxes, granting the potential for players to earn more tickets.

Other rewards include a unique Clash Banner, that will increase in stature the further your team goes, and a themed trophy. The trophies are themed after different regions of the League of Legends universe, with the first trophy being the Demacia Clash Cup.

To get tickets, players can earn a free one from the Clash website, win one from the flex queue mission, purchase with 1,000 blue essence, or purchase then with RP
