Deerfield Beach residents who live in the 33441 and 33442 ZIP codes, along with those who live in the 33064 ZIP code north of Southwest 15th Street, are advised to boil their water before use.
The city issued the precautionary notice Thursday after a sample from a raw, untreated well showed trace amounts of bacteria, according to the city’s notice.
The advisory will be in place until testing finds it safe to drink — typically in two to three days.The advisory remained in effect Friday.
People should boil water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth and washing dishes until it reaches a rolling boil or use bottled water instead, the alert says.
