June is Gay Pride Month.
Bloomingdale’s at Aventura Mall is marking the occasion by inviting Victor Cardenas Pasos, chef at The Palace, a South Beach gay bar and restaurant, to demonstrate two signature dishes.
Noel Leon, one of the Palace’s legendary drag divas, will assist the chef. The Palace, now in its 23rd year, attracts locals and tourists to its drag shows which spill out on to the sidewalk on Ocean Drive.
The free cooking event starts at 1 p.m. Saturday. Attendees will sample the dishes and leave with copies of the recipes. Cooking with Pride starts at 1 pm in the housewares department on the third floor of Bloomingdale’s, 19555 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura, 305-792-1288.
