An amazingly dry autumn and a forecast void of rain for at least two weeks has Jones County fire officials pleading with the public not to burn.
Jones County, like most of the state, remains under a burn ban. Most of Mississippi has burn-ban restrictions in place, as well as warnings for drought conditions.
