Bubba Watson was born Gerry Lester Watson Jr. on 5 November 1978 at Bagdad, Florida. He is an American professional golf player.

He reached his highest ever placing on the World Golf Ranking at number two in February 2015.

Watson was nicknamed “Bubba” after the former American football player Bubba Smith by his father.

As an amateur, Bubba played for his high school team and the University of Georgia golf team. He went professional in 2002 and played on the Nationwide Tour until 2005.

In 2006, he made a little over $1m on the PGA Tour. He now has two Masters titles under his belt.
Watson is married and has two adopted children.
