Have you ever gone trick or treating in a neighborhood that gave you the creeps for all the wrong reasons? There are some better options out there.

Rio Vista, a neighborhood off Federal Highway just south of downtown Fort Lauderdale, by Bethany Christian Church

Everyone goes all out on their decorations, some houses look AMAZING. The whole neighborhood gets into it. Plus, some neighbors give out great stuff. Last year, someone was giving out doughnuts and another house gave out ice cream.

Boo Bash at Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle, U.S. 1 and Hollywood Boulevard, Oct. 28.

You will have the chance to be a kid again and make arts and crafts, then trick or treat for candy, 7-10 p.m.

Chapel Trail: Pasadena Estates on Pines Boulevard and 196th in Pembroke Pines

Almost every house celebrates, and they all have great decorations and yummy candy. All the neighborhood kids dress up and the streets are well-lit, so it’s not too scary.

Weston Hills, off Royal Palm Boulevard in Weston

These homeowners are extremely friendly and tend to give out major goods, like full-sized Snickers and Hershey’s bars. Many people also hand out goodie bags filled with miniature candy, stickers and plastic toys.

Eagle Trace, off Coral Ridge Drive and Lakeview Drive in Coral Springs

Both the quantity and quality of the candy is great. And there are many houses to go trick o’ treating at.

Cypress Head, located on Holmberg Road in Parkland

Almost all 300 houses in the neighborhood participate in Halloween and give out candy. Also, many houses are decorated.

Southwest Ranches by I-75, Davie

My friend introduced me to this community. It has the best parties and it looks scary at night, too. It’s perfect for trick-or-treating.

They give out popular and safe candy to kids. Every year they prepare a show for entertainment. They also have games and prizes.

Town Gate at Dykes and Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines

I love trick or treating there because the residents always give out a lot of candy.

Westfield Mall at University Drive and Broward Boulevard

They usually host a mall Trick or Treat and usually the treats are big candy bars of Twix, Hershey or Snickers.

Sun Life has a huge gathering with lots of candy and food. There are also rides for the children and live performances.

Sunset Falls, a community off 172nd Avenue and Bass Creek Road in Miramar.

A lot of homes beyond the clubhouse give out candy. While the beginning of the community is a bit dead, the back is definitely not. The houses that put up decorations are very festive and go all out.

Colony Courts Townhomes off Oakland Park and 120th Way in Sunrise

This is a great place to go Trick O Treating because they give the BEST CANDY, the community is beautifully decorated in Halloween decor, and it is a very kid-friendly and safe, well-lit place to have fun.

Country Glen, off Flamingo Road just south of Griffin

Homes here give out pounds of candy. Some even give out sodas to quench that Trick or Treat thirst. Families here are huge fans of Halloween, and the massive decorations and haunted houses show it.

The houses are usually decorated really nice and have scary music playing. Some people also have smoke to create a scarier effect for Halloween. The neighborhood is safe, and the people are very friendly.

Westport subdivision on the north side of Broward Boulevard between Pine Island and Nob Hill in Plantation

The homes give great candy, and the families who live there go outside to enjoy the evening. It’s fun to run through the neighborhood with friends from several different schools; it gives us a chance to get back in touch with each other once the school year has started. It’s a blast!

Hawks Landing neighborhood off Nob Hill Road in Planation

Hawks Landing is know for the many famous people that live there. Remember DJ from “Full House”? She lives there. Other famous residents include many players of the Miami Dolphins, including Jason Taylor. So Trick-or-Treating in Hawks Landing not only gives you a chance to rack up on candy, but also a chance to do some serious star sightings. Plus, Hawks Landing residents are notorious for giving out full candy bars instead of just minis, which is always a bonus!

The houses by Hollywood Circle, at U.S. 1 in Hollywood

Last year, there were lines of people that got an array of treats – ranging from Popsicles to cotton candy – that the neighbors were making on the spot. One house had a party going on and there was live music from the band on their balcony that echoed throughout the neighborhood. Some neighbors set up a haunted house through their front yard within their shrubs and arches, with great effects such as smoke, spiders and screaming. Not only do trick-or-treaters get treats here, they get their fair share of fun tricks, too.
