She has garnered two awards: the New York Emmy Award for Outstanding Evening Newscast in 2019, the New York State Broadcasters Award for Feature Reporting in 2018, and the New York Emmy Award-nominated for Outstanding Evening Newscast in 2018.

Ashley’s final newscast was on June 10, 2022. She has quit the station to spend as much time as possible with her infant daughter. From May 2010 until June 2011, she worked as a reporter and writer at CHCH before joining WKBW-TV. Ashley also worked for the Canadian government as an intern in the Ministers’ regional office from May to September 2009.

Ashley was the station’s substitute anchor at 6, 11.30, and 12 noon while she was there. She had covered big events such as the 2011 and 2014 Ontario provincial elections, the 2012 Toronto Eaton Centre massacre, the 2015 Canadian federal election, the investigation into the murky commercial trading of reproductive eggs in the GTA, and Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s drug scandal.
