Well, you could hose yourself if you picked an opposition school(s) that didn't let you cast mage hand or fulfill any of the other prerequisites for Arcane Trickster but other than that, illusionists
are wizards so of course you can qualify as an illusionist. (Specialist wizards are IMNSHO usually better than generalists for any purpose because you can get around a school restriction (as long as you aren't foolish enough to pick Transmutation or Abjuration as opposed schools) and the extra spell at each level is a real boost to your casting ability.)
