Two of the area’s top baseball players were named MaxPreps preseason All-Americans on Monday.

American Heritage-Delray pitcher Ryan Bruno and Stoneman Douglas infielder Coby Mayo were two of the 30 players named to the website’s preseason list.

Bruno was a first-team All-County selection as a junior last year. He excelled as a pitcher and as an outfielder. He had a 1.85 ERA in 30 1/3 innings while striking out 49 batters. He also hit .333 with two home runs and a .944 OPS.

MLB.com ranks Bruno, a Stanford commit, as the No. 98 overall prospect in the 2020 MLB draft.

Mayo, a Florida Gators commit, was also a first-team All-County selection. Mayo was one of the Eagles’ top hitters last year, hitting .391 with four homers and a 1.123 OPS.
