League of Legends Patch 8.24 promises to bring many changes. It's almost the preseason for League fans, so Riot Games focuses on making the biggest changes for this patch.

Here are five things players want to see in League of Legends Patch 8.24.

5. Champion Updates

Riot Games switched its focus from introducing new champions to reworking and updating older, outdated ones. This revitalized a number of playable characters that had often been forgotten, like Swain and Nunu. Several champions, like Veigar and Gragas, received smaller visual or sound effects updates without being completely reworked. These changes, while minor, updates the champion's abilities to match the game's current designs. Players would love to see more updates like this for outdated champions like Tryndamere and Singed.

4. AD Carry Buffs

With the recent nerfs to AD Carry itemization, vision, and runes like Fleet Footwork, AD Carries have fallen into a fairly weakened state compared to assassins and skirmishers. Games are often short due to the strength of snowballing champions, and could become even shorter with the changes introduced to drakes and baron most recently, which would further hit marksmen as they need time to scale and build costly items.

3. Celerity Buffs

Celerity received a large nerf in Patch 8.23, which shifted the movement speed increases from an overall bonus to a percentage increase onto additional movement speed gained through items or abilities. The patch also removed the effect where bonus movement speed was converted into adaptive force, which champions like Hecarim greatly benefited from. With these changes, Celerity has lost its viability and has become one of the least picked runes in the current patch.

2. Irelia Nerfs

With her high mobility and damage outputs, Irelia has remained one of the strongest picks over the course of the past few patches. In the most recent patch, Riot Games nerfed vision and buffed drake buffs, which will benefit champions like Irelia who can easily dash onto an enemy champion to quickly kill them. Players would like to see a nerf to Irelia after waiting numerous patches for one in order to help with these changes introduced in Patch 8.23

1. Dark Harvest Nerfs

With the changes it received in Patch 8.23, Dark Harvest has become a strong pick for a wide range of champions across the map. The rune had its cooldown and base damage changed, but most importantly, the rune is now triggered by any damage instead of just basic attacks. Due to these changes, Dark Harvest has lost its identity, and many players want changes to the rune, such as reverting its damage source or nerfing its base damage.
