Cheesy as it is, the flying duo of Pharah and a Mercy pocket healer is incredibly effective. Damage boosted rockets do a whole mess of damage, and when the rocket queen starts to take damage, Mercy can patch her right up.

The two are quite self-sustaining together; due to their movement patterns being less predictable in the air, they make for a difficult duo to take down. Here's a list to guide you through the best ways to take them out.

5. Soldier: 76

The tried and true method to taking out Pharmercy, it's conventional wisdom at this point that Soldier: 76 is a good counter for the two troublesome flying heroes. With steady and reliable damage output, he's a good pick for taking the two out solo.

There are times, however, when the duo is too organized and careful with their line of sight to enemies, and it becomes nearly impossible to take them out alone. This is when Soldier: 76 fails due to his damage output being so consistent and predictable, even while using his Tactical Visor.

4. Zenyatta

Zenyatta is seriously underrated when it comes to taking down Pharmercy. With his Discord Orb adding 30 percent damage from all sources, he can help add that extra bit of burst damage to any other hero, often making the difference between Mercy dropping down in time to get to cover and her untimely death.

Furthermore, Zenyatta only needs to land a few shots to do serious damage and take one of them down himself.

3. McCree

While McCree's primary fire suffers from significant damage falloff which minimizes his effectiveness against a far-away Pharmercy duo, he has several options considering his reliable hit-scan weapon. He can consistently plug away at Mercy until she drops out of the sky voluntarily or otherwise, leaving Pharah vulnerable.

Another option is if they're really out in the open, he can use his Deadeye ultimate to drop the two heroes rather quickly given their base HP.

2. D.Va

While D.Va may not be the perfect solution for landing a killing blow on Pharah or Mercy, D.Va can use Defense Matrix to disintegrate those pesky rockets out of the sky and keep the pressure on Pharah while another teammate takes care of Mercy.

If you're feeling a bit frisky and risky, maybe try chucking an ultimate in the sky too for a possible double kill. If it lands, you'll be seen as a hero.

1. Widowmaker

A good Widowmaker is the top counter to the pesky combo. The only drawback to the Pharmercy combo is their visibility, as they can often be spotted a mile away. This makes them perfect sniper bait, provided you're a good shot! Find a relatively safe position, line up your shot, and take them down.

Two shots, two kills (preferably)
