Ten Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants in South Florida are now under the ownership of Doherty Enterprises Inc., a New Jersey company with more than 100 restaurants across four states.
The deal includes restaurants in Coral Springs, Margate, Pembroke Pines, Sunrise, Southwest Ranches, Tamarac, Cutler Bay, Doral, Florida City and Hialeah. More than 550 employees work at those restaurants.
Other restaurants run by the family-owned and operated company include Panera Bread, Chevys Fresh Mex, Quaker Steak & Lube, Noodles & Company, Ihop, The Shannon Rose Irish Pub and Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas.
Terms of the Applebee’s acquisition from Indiana-based Apple Sauce Inc. were not disclosed.
With the addition of the Florida restaurants, Doherty Enterprises now has 109 Applebee’s and a total of 164 restaurants in New York, New Jersey, Georgia and Florida.
